DESCRIPTION

Follow the path of popes and pilgrims on a journey through Rome’s Jubilee history. Every 25 years, this event transforms the Eternal City into the heart of Christianity. We begin at St. Peter’s Basilica, where the Jubilee starts with the opening of the Holy Door. Standing beneath Bernini’s grand colonnades, you’ll hear stories of popes, pilgrims, and power struggles.
Next is Castel Sant’Angelo, a fortress that served as an emperor’s tomb, a papal refuge, and is linked to the Vatican by the secret Passetto di Borgo. On the way, we stroll down Via dei Coronari, once filled with rosary sellers catering to pilgrims, now home to vintage shops.
We arrive at Piazza Navona, a Baroque masterpiece. In 1650, Pope Innocent X transformed it into a lake for Jubilee celebrations. You’ll admire Bernini’s Fountain of the Four Rivers and Borromini’s Sant’Agnese in Agone—two artists locked in a legendary rivalry.
At San Luigi dei Francesi, Caravaggio’s St. Matthew series captivates with its drama. We continue to the Pantheon, a symbol of Rome’s transition from paganism to Christianity.
We end at the Church of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, dedicated to the Jesuit founder. Inside, Andrea Pozzo’s illusionistic ceiling fresco creates an “open sky” effect, a Baroque marvel symbolizing ascent to heaven.
Join us on this Jubilee journey through Rome, where faith, art, and history converge. You’ll leave with unforgettable stories and a deeper connection to this sacred city that has attracted pilgrims for centuries.
