DESCRIPTION

Let the voices of literary greats like Goethe and Byron guide you on the Grand Tour, a journey that uncovers Rome’s classic landmarks through the lens of its most inspired storytellers.
Once upon a time, visiting Rome wasn’t just a vacation but a cultural rite of passage. During the 18th and 19th centuries, the Eternal City was the crown jewel of the Grand Tour, a transformative trip for young intellectuals. Rome’s streets were alive with artists, writers, adventurers, and dreamers—and, of course, the ever-present allure of bustling inns, cafés, and souvenir shops.
Our adventure begins at Piazza del Popolo, a grand entrance to the city that once welcomed figures like Goethe and Christina of Sweden.

Next, we wander down Via Margutta, a quiet street brimming with charm and artistic legacy. This picturesque lane has inspired greats who lived there like Rubens, Canova, and Picasso and the famous italian director of the film “ La Dolce Vita”, Federico Fellini.
We’ll pause at Caffè Canova Tadolini, where history and elegance intertwine. This former artist’s studio, passed down from Canova to his student Tadolini, is now a refined café steeped in creativity and stories.

To truly capture the spirit of the Grand Tour, we delve into the city’s most vibrant celebration: the Carnival. In the 19th century, Via del Corso came alive with the excitement of horse races, a spectacle writer Goethe himself enjoyed from his balcony.
The journey continues to the Mausoleum of Augustus, a powerful reminder of ancient Rome’s monumental legacy. This site tells the tale of an empire that shaped history and left an indelible mark on the world.

Our final stop is the iconic Piazza di Spagna, a meeting point for travelers past and present. Here, we imagine our Grand Tourists relaxing with coffee at Caffè Greco or tea at Babington’s. From the top of the Spanish Steps, the view of Trinità dei Monti and Villa Medici offers a perfect conclusion to our journey. Rome’s timeless magic is a testament to its ability to inspire generation after generation let’s discover it together.
