Ancient Egyptian Faience baby Ring wtih the Nefer (beauty) Sign - time of Akhenaton - Tutankhamon - 20×2×15 mm
A Egyptian faience Ring from the 18th Dynasty from the time of Tutankhamen.
The bezel showing three or four Nefer sigs.
This can be interpreted as the plural of nefer, Neferu.
Neferu is normally in Amarna pointing to the two "beautiful gods" being: Akhenaton and Nefertiti, "Netjer Neferu". "the beautiful gods, or the beautiful couple). But seen their "divine" status they would have been called the Nefer Netjeru, the beautiful ones, the beautiful gods.
14mm internal width.
Provenance - From Quercus of Quonians antiques, Staffordshire. L.H.
